Dutch Chicken Corn Chowder

Ingredients:

3 slices bacon cut into pieces
1 onion chopped finely
2 cups diced potatoes
1/2 cup chopped celery
3 tbs. chopped green pepper
2 cups can corn--drained
1 cup cooked, cubed chicken or ham
2 cups water
1 cup milk Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions:

Brown bacon on the bottom of soup pot. Remove from pot and save 1 teaspoon drippings. Add chopped onion and cook for 5 minutes, Add 2 cups of water, potatoes, green peppers and boil for 5-10 minutes until potatoes are soft. Add corn,bacon pieces, drippings and cooked chicken pieces. Add milk. Heat to boiling point but do NOT boil. Add 2 tablespoons of butter.
